    Do Re Mi for C D E?

    Hi,

I live in the french speaking part of switzerland and i speak italian as well. In both cultures we use
Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si (not TI!) for naming the notes.

Would it be possible to implement that as an additional option in the note name options?

    ciao!

    Hi Oliver

We've had a few requests now about adding Solfege names to note markers and it is something we're looking into for a future version. It looks like we'll need to make sure we cover both the Movable Do Solfege and Fixed Do Solfege as we have users in many different countries now.

In the meantime you could use the Custom Label option to add the Solfage names. Once created you could then copy and paste them to speed things up.

Just right click the note and chose Set Custom Label (first pic), but you can only use three characters at this time. Then with the Selector Tool (cursor) double click the note and from the Style drop down, choose Custom (2nd screen shot).

NOTE: I'm using M3 in my example but it's exactly the same method.

    Question

    Hi Olivier,

We're working on this feature - at last! We've been looking through the Solfège page on Wikipedia and it's not very clear - information overload!

So with Fixed Do Solfège, how do you handle sharp/flat notes? Looks like there's three possibilities:

    1. Traditional - no accidentals
    2. Romance - with accidentals
    3. Chromatic variants with different syllables

What's the most common? Traditional doesn't seem that useful to me, unless you're always strictly in C major/A minor!

And do the syllable names always have an upper case first letter too?
