So can you create an inside and an different outside color for the same note?

Apologies for the delay in response, crazy busy with the recent update and run up to the holidays.

You can draw an outline around the note but at present it's the same colour as the note marker I'm afraid. However, we are planing to add this option in a future version, much like the 'Stroke' option Adobe and others use in their graphics packages.

To draw the outline, just double click the note marker to bring up the Inspector, then check the Draw Outline Around Note box.

You can split a note marker into to colours though. Again just double click the note to reveal the Inspector then under the Colour section select the Left/Right Colours option and then use the colour palettes to the right to select which colours you want.
