    Landscape page format

I would find it very useful to have an option to create charts in landscape format. For example, full length fretboard diagrams look squashed from left to right, and although vertical fretboards are an option, text still reads across the page in portrait, which looks incongruous.

If this could be implemented, I would then prefer to see the vertical fretboard tool eliminated and replaced with a multi-purpose fretboard tool which can be aligned in either direction as required.

    Hi Stringtheorist

We'll be adding landscape orientation in a future version. In the mean time you can use the custom page size to create a landscape page. Take a look at this thread for more info on how to achieve this:

I don't see why we'd get rid of the vertical fretboard tool once landscape pages have been implemented though. These are handy for inserting shorter diagrams for chord boxes. Well they're for me, users can set them up how they wish in the Preferences>Fretboard section.

    Thanks

    Fantastic... Thanks!

Regarding the fretboard tool, I was just thinking two tools seemed redundant. Perhaps a dedicated chord diagram tool instead? Personally, I like my chord boxes orientated the same way as scale/TAB charts (ie. horizontal).

Hmm... I'm having a problem printing this out correctly now I've changed the page layout. The print dialog won't show the layout and keeps outputting in portrait so it's half the size. /

Strange... have you gone into your Printer Preferences and changed to Landscape?

Also, what happens if you export as PDF and then print? If you get the same result I'd be leaning towards a printer set up issue more than an issue with ND.

Let me know how you get on. You can also head over to http://support.neckdiagrams.com and raise a support ticket if you need one to one assistance.

    Thanks

When I open an exported pdf the print dialogue shows page orientation and it looks fine. If I try to print from inside ND I see no page orientation in the print dialogue.

    Hi Stringtheorist

    Glad the PDF solution worked.

For printing directly from ND you'll need to go into the Print Preferences on on Windows, like in the screen shot below. I assume you're on Windows as Mac OSX has an orientation in the print dialogue window (pic 2).

    Thanks

I'm on a Mac actually Dean but I don't see the page orientation in the dialogue.

    Hi Craig,

If you compare the screenshots you'll spot ours has "Hide Details" next to the PDF button, and yours says "Show Details"...

So just click your "Show Details" button and extra options should magically show up Then you'll find the Orientation option in the Page Attributes section!

Oops, sorry Justin. I thought that button was a reference to printing PDFs, as it's next to the PDF button. :/

    Tnx.
