Safely taking my diagrams to another computer

I have been making a ton of diagrams and i tried to drag and drop them to a memory stick to move to another computer. It worked but it screwed up the diagrams in my old computer. How can I do this safely so I don't loose my diagrams in my computer I copy from?

If you're drag/dropping from the Diagram Gallery then it sounds like you've done a 'move' but you want to do a 'copy' so hold down ALT (if on a Mac) or CTRL (if on Windows) whilst you do the drag/drop.
