Hi Peter,
Were you using the "Barre Connection" tool in the bottom right corner of the tool palette? (hovering the pointer over the item will show a description in a tooltip)
If that's the case then we've seen something like this and have a fix which will be released in an update, probably tomorrow!
It it's the Polyline you're using (2 items above the "Barre Connection") then please have a look at the line width value in the Inspector, where can adjust object properties. If you have a big number there then change it to something much smaller; and you'll probably want to check the corresponding default value in the "Lines" Preferences page which controls the default values for new line objects.
